The Cure, Cocteau Twins, Peter Gabriel, and Paul Heaton honored at The Ivors


The Ivor Novello awards aka Ivors took place Thursday night in London.

The annual prestigious awards recognize excellence in songwriting in the UK. Cocteau Twins received the Visionary Award; Paul Heaton was recognized for Outstanding Song Collection; Robert Smith and Simon Gallop of The Cure were honored with the Music Icon Award, and the highest honor of the evening went to Peter Gabriel, who received the Academy Fellowship Award, which recognizes excellence in the art and craft of music creation.
