According to several reports , Olli Wisdom, of the band Specimen has died. Wisdom (aka Oliver John Wisdom) was the singer/leader of Specimen and was the co-founder of The Batcave. The Batcave was a weekly goth night held at Gargoyle Club in London from 1982 to 1986 and was attended by many influential artists including Robert Smith, Siouxsie Sioux, Steve Severin, Peter Murphy, Nick Cave, The Southern Death Cult, Marc Almond, Alien Sex Fiend, Virgin Prunes, and more. Wisdom co-founded the night along with Specimen guitarist Jon Klein, and Specimen was the Batcave's house band. Besides his work with The Batcave and Specimen, Wisdom was also was heavily involved in the psych/trance scene and played parties around the world. Wisdom died at his home in London. The cause of death has not been announced. He was 63 years old. R.I.P.
The Charlatans will mark the 25th anniversary of "How High" with a jacket. The single, taken from Tellin' Stories, was issued June 9th, 1997. In the music video for "How High" Tim Burgess sports a yellow and black jacket, which he says he has been asked about for years. As a treat for fans, Burgess thought launching a replica jacket would be a fitting way to commemorate the single's 25th anniversary, The Charlatans teamed up with Hikerdelic to make the magic happen, but the outwear company didn't make the OG version.
